An Oceanside lawyer accused of stabbing her 79-year-old mother to death has been indicted by a grand jury, records show.

Suzan Grossman-Kerner, 56, was arrested by police last month and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Irma Grossman on Aug. 17.

Her lawyer, Todd D. Greenberg, said at the time of her arrest that she had a history of suicide attempts and that her "very serious psychiatric history" would be an issue during court proceedings.

Her arraignment on the indictment, scheduled for Tuesday in County Court in Mineola, was postponed to Oct. 27, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors would not say what charges were brought by the grand jury because she had not been arraigned on the indictment. Online court records show a grand jury indictment was filed Sept. 25th.

She pleaded not guilty in First District Court in Hempstead following her arrest on Aug. 18 and was ordered held without bail.
