Two motorcyclists killed in separate crashes, cops say

Police are investigating two separate fatal motor vehicle crashes in which a motorcyclist in Bay Shore and another in Oceanside were killed Sunday morning.

In the Bay Shore crash, Suffolk County police said Kenneth Boos, 31, of Bay Shore was riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle north on Pine Acres Boulevard when his motorcycle collided with a 2002 Toyota that was traveling west on Huron Drive at 11:53 a.m.

Boos was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Toyota driver, Brianna Valdes, 23, also of Bay Shore, was not injured.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and police asked anyone with information about the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.

Nassau County police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in Oceanside in which a resident of the hamlet was killed.

According to Fourth Squad detectives, Richard A. Soulant, 35, was riding his 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Fortesque Avenue near Christopher Street shortly before 4 a.m. when he lost control and hit a curb.

Police said Soulant suffered serious back and head injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician at 4:43 a.m.

There is no criminality, police said, and the investigation was continuing.
