Firefighters from at least seven departments responded to a fire at a metal stamping plant in Carle Place on Tuesday morning, police and fire officials said.

Nassau County fire officials said the fire, reported at 8:29 a.m., was declared under control just after 9 a.m. Photos from the scene show a small fire near a chimney on the roof.

The fire was at a building on Voice Road identified as belonging to Johnson & Hoffman, a precision metal stamping and deep-drawn component manufacturer that makes fasteners, conduit connectors and plug buttons, according to its website. The plant is just north of Roosevelt Field mall and just west of the Meadowbrook State Parkway.

Officials said firefighters from departments in Carle Place, Westbury, Hicksville, Mineola, Jericho, Syosset and Manhasset responded. It appears everyone safely evacuated the building, officials said.
