Passenger trapped in Massapequa SUV crash pulled out

A crash in Massapequa Wednesday flipped a sport utility vehicle on its side, trapping a passenger, Nassau County police confirmed.

The two-vehicle crash happened at about 11:30 a.m., police said, at Louden Avenue and Carmans Road, just west of Sunrise Highway. A van and an SUV collided, sending the SUV on its side.

The injured woman was removed through the window by Massapequa firefighters and transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow by police helicopter. Police did not have information on her injuries.

Both drivers refused medical attention at the scene.
