Police: Oyster Bay woman walking to her car is hit, killed by SUV

An Oyster Bay woman was struck and killed by a Jeep as she walked to her parked car on Friday night, Nassau County police said.

Patricia White, 64, was approaching her car, which was parked on Pine Hollow Road in Oyster Bay, when at 10:20 p.m. she was hit by a 2014 Jeep heading southbound driven by a 26-year-old woman, police said.

White was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 11:16 p.m.

Nassau police conducted brake and safety checks of the Jeep at the scene. No criminality is suspected at this time, authorities said.
