Police: Pedestrian critical after crash in Lawrence

Police are investigating a crash in Lawrence Tuesday morning that left an 81-year-old pedestrian critically injured.

The unidentified man was walking across Broadway from east to west near Frost Lane at 6:37 a.m. when he was struck by a northbound 2016 Toyota, Nassau County police said.

The victim sustained a broken arm and severe head trauma and was taken to a hospital by Hatzolah ambulance, police said. The driver, an unidentified 30-year-old man, was not injured.
