ACCOUNTING
Karan Sampson has joined Melville-based Marcum's alternative investment group as director of business development. The Ridgefield, Conn., resident previously operated her own consulting firm, KSD Consulting. She will work out of Marcum's Manhattan office. 

AVIATION
Christian Deputy has been promoted to president of Liberty Jet Management in Ronkonkoma. Deputy also will continue his duties as director of operations. He is a co-founder of the company and a Lynbrook resident. Liberty Jet Management is an FAA-licensed air carrier that offers national and international jet charter service.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Erica B. Garay has been appointed to the Suffolk County Supreme Court Commercial Division's Panel of Neutrals as mediator. She is a member of the Garden City law firm of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, where she concentrates in commercial litigation. Garay is a Melville resident. 

ELECTRONICS
Michael J. Long has been named chairman of the board at Melville-based Arrow Electronics. He was named chief executive earlier this year and will retain that position. Long will remain a Denver resident. 

HEALTH CARE
Dr. Michael Schulder and Dr. Jana Fox have been named co-directors of the newly established North Shore Long Island Jewish Center for Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Radiation at North Shore University Hospital. Schulder is vice chairman of neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital and lives in Manhattan. Fox is an attending physician in the department of radiation medicine at North Shore and is a Manhattan resident. 

Christopher Mastromano has joined Fidelis Care, a government programs-based health insurance company, as director of provider relations and will work from its Rego Park, Queens, office. The Lindenhurst resident was vice president at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica, Queens. 

LAW
The Melville-based law firm of Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles has announced the hiring of two new attorneys. James M. Burke, a Port Jefferson resident, has joined the firm as counsel in the tax certiorari, land use, zoning, real estate and municipal law practices. He had been deputy Brookhaven Town attorney and deputy director of the Suffolk County department of real estate. Karen H. Tucci, also a Port Jefferson resident, has joined the firm as an associate. She had been in a similar position at the Manhattan-based firm Napoli Bern Ripka. 

PHARMACEUTICALS
Robert Kirshoff has joined Noven Pharmaceuticals in Manhattan as senior manager of global clinical operations. The Melville resident had been director of clinical trials at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola.

TOURISM
Nasser Samman has been anmed to the board of the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission.  Samman, of Garden City, is general manager of the Garden City Hotel.
