Plainview bank robbed

A Plainview bank was robbed Wednesday by a man who presented a teller a note demanding money, Nassau police said.

An unspecified amount of money was stolen from the Roslyn Savings Bank at 509 Old Country Rd., police said, by the man who left the bank about 1 p.m. Police said he headed west toward the Burger King parking lot at Old Country Road and South Oyster Bay Road.

None of the six employees and two customers in the bank at the time were injured, police said.

The robber, about 6 feet tall, was wearing a gray winter jacket, green winter hat, clear glasses and a black mask over his face, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
