Police investigate armed robbery of Elmont gas station

Police are searching for an armed robber who they said stole cash Sunday night from a gas station in Elmont.

The robbery occurred at a Sunoco station on Linden Boulevard at 9:16 p.m., Nassau County police said. No one was injured.

Police said the suspect, identified as being about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 200 pounds, entered the gas station wearing a mask.

The suspect then displayed a black revolver with a wooden handle and demanded cash from the clerk, police said.

Police said the clerk complied and the robber then fled in a silver, four-door vehicle.

It was not clear how much money was taken.
