Police: Man arrested in holdup of New Hyde Park cellphone store

A Hempstead man robbed a Metro PCS store at gunpoint earlier in March, Nassau County police said Thursday.

Joseph Eulo, 48, of 162 Parsons Dr., entered the store at 414 Hillside Ave. in New Hyde Park at 4:10 p.m. on March 10, threatened a male employee, 39, with a gun and demanded money, detectives said.

The employee, alone in the store at the time, gave Eulo an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

After an investigation Third Squad detectives, along with Bureau of Special Operations officers, arrested Eulo at his home at 12:35 a.m. Thursday without incident, according to a news release.

Eulo is charged with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Police also said he had an open felony parole warrant when he was arrested.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
