Police: Man robs North Massapequa bank Friday evening

Nassau County police are searching for a man who robbed a TD Bank Friday evening in North Massapequa Friday evening, then fled in a Jeep Wrangler.

The suspect entered the bank, at 1354 Hicksville Rd., shortly after 7 p.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding cash, police said. He then fled the bank heading southbound on Hicksville Road with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

There were three employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as about 5-foot-9 with a thin build, unshaven and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, aviator sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
