Police are investigating the robbery of a TD Bank on Friday night -- the second bank robbery in Franklin Square in as many days.

Nassau County police detectives said a male subject entered the bank, at 690 Hempstead Tpke., and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied, and the subject fled on foot, going west on Hempstead Turnpike with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Four employees and two patrons were in the bank at the time of the robbery, which happened about 7:40 p.m., police said. No injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a male, 30 to 35 years old, about 6 feet, wearing sunglasses, a yellow baseball hat, a long-sleeve black shirt and blue jeans.

No further description was available.

It was unclear whether the incident is related to one that occurred Thursday morning at a Roslyn Savings Bank inside the Pathmark at 460 Franklin Ave., police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
