Police seek driver of vehicle that hit building in Mineola

Police Tuesday released a video of a vehicle striking a building early Saturday in Mineola and then driving away.

Seen on a security video at a business at 160 Herricks Rd. is a sliver-colored vehicle proceeding down the road at 2:05 a.m., veering to the right into the building, backing up and then driving away. Police said the crash caused "extensive damage."

A second video, with no time stamp, showed a close-up of an individual picking up items in front of the building.

The business owner had spotted damage to the structure, as well as skid marks on the sidewalk, police said, and later viewed the incident on the video.

Anyone with information can call Nassau County Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 800-244-TIPS.
