Police determine ID of man found wandering streets of Old Westbury

The identity of a man found disoriented and wandering the streets of Old Westbury on Friday night has been determined, Nassau County police said Tuesday.

Efraim Rivera of Brooklyn was the man wearing a beige button down shirt, khaki shorts, blue socks, white slip-on shoes and black prescription glasses when he was found about 10 p.m. on Jericho Turnpike and Westbury Lane, police said.

He was described as a Spanish-speaking man, about 75 years old, who authorities said appeared to have dementia and diabetes.

He was taken to Syosset Hospital for evaluation Friday night, police said.

A police spokeswoman on Tuesday did not immediately know if he had been released from the hospital.
