Nassau police are looking for a burglar who broke into a Roslyn Heights home early Thursday and woke up a resident.
Police said the male suspect, for whom no description was available, got into the Deer Run home by shattering a basement sliding door about 12:43 a.m.
He headed upstairs to a second-floor bedroom and opened dresser drawers, then went down to a first-floor master bedroom and started opening drawers, waking the 73-year-old woman sleeping there, police said.
The suspect reached for a jewelry box that was on top of a dresser before bolting from the room, but then dropped it just before leaving the house, police said. Nothing was taken from the home and there were no injuries.
Anyone with information on this burglary is asked to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
