Police: Suspect sought in 4 knifepoint robberies at Nassau stores

Police are searching for a suspect they said has committed at least four robberies at businesses in Valley Stream and Woodmere within the past six weeks -- using a white getaway vehicle at least once.

Nassau County police released a surveillance video image of the suspect Tuesday.

The robberies include: A Shell gas station, 928 Rosedale Rd., North Woodmere, on Feb. 9; Evans Corner, 962 Rockaway Ave., Valley Stream, on Feb. 24; North Central Liquors, 339 N. Central Ave., Valley Stream, on March 10; and Dragon Garden, 105 Rockaway Ave., Valley Stream, on March 11.

Police said that during the robberies the suspect enters the establishment, approaches the victim, demands cash and flees with the cash drawer.

Police also said the getaway vehicle had gold New York plates.

The suspect wore a black jacket or hooded sweatshirt, ski mask or scarf covering his lower face and gloves, police said. His dark-colored sneakers had white soles.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
