Police: Suspect sought in East Meadow doughnut shop robbery

Police are searching for a man who, displaying a large knife, robbed a Dunkin' Donuts on Jerusalem Road in East Meadow on Tuesday night.

Nassau County police said the robbery occurred at 9 p.m.

The store clerk was uninjured, police said.

Police said the suspect, believed to be in his 20s and between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 with "a large nose," entered the store and demanded cash -- while displaying the knife. Police said the robber wore a blue hat, a black jacket and dark sunglasses.

After the robbery, police said the suspect fled on foot east toward Vernon Avenue.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
