Firefighters battled two boat fires in Nassau County on Wednesday evening, police said.

The first was reported at about 5:25 p.m. at the Treasure Island Marina in Seaford, a police spokeswoman said. Callers reported a boat parked on land was in flames.

Wantagh Fire Department spokesman James Bloomfield said the fire spread to boats parked on either side of the original boat, but the flames were quickly extinguished once firefighters arrived.

No one was injured, he said, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A second fire was reported in East Rockaway at 5:35 p.m., the spokeswoman said. There, a flaming boat was seen drifting in the water, just off Ocean Harbor Drive in East Rockaway waters.

Further information about that fire was not immediately available.
