Two Nassau County police officers were injured after their cruiser and another vehicle collided Sunday afternoon in Bethpage, police said.

The crash occurred near Wantagh Avenue and Carson Street at 5:21 p.m., police said.

Police said the officers were taken to a hospital. Other details were not immediately available.

James Carver, president of the Nassau Police Benevolent Association, said Sunday night that the Second Precinct officers are in stable condition, but "banged up pretty good."

He said the officers will remain hospitalized overnight for observation.

The crash is under investigation.
