Nassau police detectives said a 25-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by another woman while walking to her car in the Roosevelt Field mall parking lot in East Garden City on Tuesday night.

Third Squad detectives said the victim had finished her shift at a business in the mall and was trying to reach her car at about 9:15 p.m. when a woman approached from behind and displayed a handgun while demanding money.

The victim handed over $110 in cash and the suspect fled, police said. There were no injuries in the altercation.

The victim described the subject as being 6-foot tall and 250 pounds, with shoulder-length black hair, police said in a news release. The subject was described by the victim as wearing a dark blue T-shirt, light-colored pants and a dark baseball cap.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
