Power has been restored to nearly 400 customers who lost electricity after a transformer blew out in Hempstead, PSEG Long Island said.

At about 10 p.m. Tuesday the blown transformer cut power to about 380 customers, according to utility spokeswoman Kristina Pappas.

Repair crews working overnight restored power to 115 customers before 7 a.m. Wednesday, she said. By 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, power was returned to the remaining 264 customers.
