LI rabbi Zalman Wolowik led prayer at Jerusalem embassy opening

A Long Island rabbi’s connection with a former bankruptcy lawyer for President Donald Trump landed him in the middle of a historic event this week: the relocation of the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, an Orthodox rabbi who runs the Chabad Center of the Five Towns in Cedarhurst, said his longtime friendship with David Friedman, who was appointed last year by Trump as the U.S. ambassador to Israel, was the key to his invitation to deliver the invocation at the event. “You have to pinch yourself to see if this is really happening,” Wolowik said Wednesday after returning to his home in Woodmere.
