Cops: 2 Hempstead men face gun, drug charges after oxycodone sale

Two Hempstead men face weapon and drug charges, Nassau County police said Tuesday.

Reginald Thorton, 22, of 35 Ingraham St., and Daquan McCall, 21, of 120 Linden Place, were arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Thorton, "acting in consort" with McCall, sold oxycodone on Ingraham Street at about 10 p.m. Monday "to another for an agreed upon amount of money."

When police arrested them, they also found a loaded handgun inside a car the two were using, officials said.

Thorton is charged with four counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. Bail was set at $40,000 bond or $20,000 cash. The name of his public defender was not immediately available.

McCall is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. His bail was set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond. He was represented by Legal Aid, which does not comment on cases.
