Masked robbers sought in Franklin Square bank holdup, police say

Two masked robbers, including one with a gun, held up a bank in Franklin Square Monday morning, Nassau police said.

They entered Chase Manhattan Bank at 654 Franklin Ave. just before 10 a.m. and demanded money, police said.

They took the money and ran out the rear door and across a creek bed toward Arley Court, police said.

The suspect with a gun appeared to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wore a winter cap, a red-long sleeved shirt and Adidas sweatpants, police said.

The second suspect was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and wore a Chicago Bulls baseball cap, a white long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.

No injuries were reported by seven employees and three customers in the bank at the time.

Detectives request anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
