A recount of votes cast in Rockville Centre's village trustee race did not change the outcome of the election, Nassau County and village officials said Friday.
Unofficial results on Tuesday showed attorney Emilio F. Grillo receiving 1,102 votes and incumbent Edward Oppenheimer receiving 1,054 votes, while incumbent Kevin R. Glynn received 1,047 votes and retired lawyer Marc Wieman got 355 votes. The race was for two four-year seats on the five-member board.
Nassau County took the machines and conducted the recount on Wednesday because the results for the top three were so close. The recounted results only changed the total for Glynn, who had one fewer vote than initially believed, a village spokeswoman said.
A spokesman for the Nassau board of elections confirmed that the recount is over and the results are the same.
Glynn and Grillo ran on the same party line.
