A section of the Long Island Expressway in Nassau County is scheduled to be closed during the overnight hours on Sunday and Monday, state officials said.
PSEG Long Island will be working on an overhead transmission line that crosses the LIE, forcing the overnight closure of travel lanes in both directions. The closures will take place in Old Westbury between Exits 39 and 40.
Closures start Sunday at 10 p.m. and last until Monday at 5 a.m., then again from 10 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.
During those times, traffic will be diverted onto the eastbound and westbound service roads, officials said.
Bad weather could affect when the job takes place, officials said.
For more information on potential closures, call 511 or visit 511ny.org, the official state traffic and travel information source, authorities said.
