Suspect sought in Carle Place bank robbery

Nassau County police are searching for a suspect who used a handgun to rob a Capital One Bank in Carle Place early Friday evening.

The male suspect entered the bank at 225 Glen Cove Rd. at 5 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller after displaying the gun.

After the teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot, heading north on Glen Cove Road.

There were five employees and three customers in the bank at the time of the robbery; none were hurt.

The suspect was described as between 30 and 35 years old, about 6 foot, wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, a blue T-shirt, black jeans and carrying a dark-colored duffle bag.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
