Suspect sought in Roosevelt street robbery

Nassau County police are investigating a robbery that took place in Roosevelt at 5:55 a.m. Saturday.

Detectives said a 42-year-old man was approached by an unknown male wearing a black sweatshirt, sunglasses and a black mask while walking on Putnam Road on Saturday morning.

The victim told police the suspect pointed a black handgun at him and demanded that he remove his pants and shoes and walk away. Police said the suspect also took the victim's keys, wallet and an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect then fired two shots into the air before walking away, police said. He was last seen walking westbound on Colonial Avenue. Police said there were no injuries.
