A sport utility vehicle barreled into a Syosset barbershop late Friday afternoon, injuring two people inside, Nassau police said.

The driver was not hurt after his Ford Escape crashed through the glass storefront of Prestige Barbers, one of several shops at a Jackson Avenue strip shopping center, police said. The crash happened shortly after 4:45 p.m., police said.

Two employees had minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital, police said. The entire vehicle ended up inside the shop.

A police spokesman did not know the cause of the “mishap” but said no criminality was involved.

The barbershop owner could not be reached Friday night.
