Teen crossing Baldwin street hit by van, Nassau police say

A 17-year-old male was seriously injured when he was struck by a work van while crossing Grand Avenue in Baldwin on Monday evening, Nassau County police said.

The identity of the victim was not released. Police said he was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Seaman Avenue at 8:05 p.m., police said. Police said the teen was crossing Grand west to east when he was struck by a 2006 Dodge Sprinter van driven by a man, 50. The driver, who was uninjured, remained at the scene and notified police.

Police said there was no criminality.
