A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach as he walked home from a party in Hempstead Saturday night, Hempstead village police said Sunday. His wounds were described as nonlife threatening.
The victim was identified as Warren Lewis of Hempstead.
Village police Lt. Francis McNamee said Lewis was at a party on Princeton Street in Hempstead that was attended by about 200 young people. He said police were called by neighbors because the party became rowdy. McNamee said police broke up the party and the party-goers dispersed.
Lewis was on his way home, McNamee said, when he was stabbed. No arrests were made. Lewis's wounds were described as nonlife threatening. He was treated at Nassau University Medical Center and released.
No arrests were made and police are continuing to investigate the incident, McNamee said.
