Trio punch pizza deliveryman, steal pie, police said

A trio of robbers stole a pizza being delivered to a home on Woodfield Road in West Hempstead, and one of the men punched the deliveryman in the face, Nassau County police said.

The 23-year-old deliveryman from Domino's Pizza was accosted about 11:20 p.m. Thursday by two men and one woman, police said.

The deliveryman had turned over the pizza to a man and a woman when a third man approached and punched him on the left side of the face, police said. There were no other injuries.

All three fled west on foot on Pinebrook Avenue, police said.

One of the male suspects was about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, between 18 and 20 years old, wearing a black shirt, black shorts and carrying a black knapsack. The other male suspect was described as about 6 feet tall and 20 to 22 years old. The female was about 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 18 to 20 years old, wearing a white shirt and black shorts.

Police said anyone with information could call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
