Two burglaries occurred minutes apart Saturday night in Westbury and Hewlett Neck, Nassau County police said.
In the first incident, two men, aged 24 and 35, came back to their home on Schenk Avenue in Westbury at 8 p.m., only to find that personal property and cash was missing.
Police investigated and arrested Juan Morocho, 25, of Westbury at his Linden Street home.
Morocho was charged with second-degree burglary and was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Ten minutes later, a 56-year-old woman returned to her Hewlett Neck home and went to the bedroom, where she found a man who had entered her home through a second-floor window, police said.
The man pushed the victim to the floor before leaving through the window with some of her property and fleeing, police said.
The woman was treated at the scene for a bruise on her head and an injury to her hand, police said.
The burglar was described as unshaven, 5-feet, 8-inhces tall, in his mid- to late 30s, with a stocky build and wearing all black clothing, police said.
