Valley Stream woman riding in car's backseat dies in Queens crash

A 22-year-old Valley Stream woman died in an early morning accident Tuesday on Nassau Expressway near Kennedy Airport, police said.

Two other women in the car were injured, one critically, the NYPD said. The other injured woman was in stable condition, according to police.

Police identified the woman who died in the crash as Patina Deygoo, 22, of Valley Stream. Police did not release the identities of the other two women other than to say both are 26.

Police said the accident occurred at 3:19 a.m. on eastbound Nassau Expressway and the Van Wyck Expressway near the Kennedy Airport exit.

The critically injured woman was driving the two-door 2010 Nissan when police said she lost control of the vehicle -- and struck a tree. Emergency medical service crews transported the women to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Police said Deygoo was in the rear seat of the car. The other passenger was in the front seat, according to the NYPD.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and that the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the cause of the crash.
