A woman was struck by a car and injured Saturday while crossing a street in Williston Park, Nassau County police said Sunday.

Police said the woman, 49, was crossing Hillside Avenue at Willis Avenue at 12:46 p.m. when she was hit by a 2008 Dodge trying to make a left-hand turn onto Hillside Avenue from Willis Avenue.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of a head injury, police said. She was listed in stable condition.

Police conducted a safety check on the vehicle at the scene.

No charges were filed against the 53-year-old man driving the Dodge, and police said they suspect no apparent criminality.
