Woman tries to buy coat with fake $100 bills in Manhasset, cops say

A Brooklyn woman was arrested Friday after Nassau police said she tried to use four counterfeit $100 bills to pay for a coat at an upscale department store in Manhasset.

Police said Neavonie Sutton, 18, tried to use the fake bills to pay for the coat at a Lord & Taylor store at 1440 Northern Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Police said Sutton was found to have six more fake $100 bills, and she was arrested without incident.

Sutton, of 323 Thomas Boyland St., was charged with 10 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
