A 19-year-old woman was arrested Dec. 27 on George Street and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

A woman, 32, was arrested Dec. 30 on Valentine Street and charged with third-degree assault.

A man, 46, was arrested Jan. 2 on Miller Street and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.



A suspicious person driving a Toyota Camry on Carmans Road Dec. 27 was reported following a 16-year-old girl while she was walking home. The male suspect fled when family members approached him.


Merrick Car Wash on Sunrise Highway was burglarized Dec. 26. The cash register was broken and cash was taken.


The rear window of the fire chief's vehicle parked at Harrison Avenue and Long Beach Road was broken Dec. 29.

Numerous thefts occurred on Poplar Street Dec. 29. A unlocked 2009 Chevy was stolen from in front of residence; a 2008 Ford was ransacked and money was taken and items were taken from three additional vehicles parked in adjoining driveways.

Two snowblowers were stolen from a truck belonging to TJ Automotive Distributors on Hampton Road. Two male suspects are shown on surveillance video.

Paint was poured on a 2000 Lincoln parked on Trinity Place Dec. 29. The doors on the vehicle were also scratched.


A man, 40, was arrested Dec. 30 for a burglary that occurred on Dec. 20. He is accused of entering a residence on Hudson Avenue and removing electronics and jewelry from the house.


A 1987 Toyota was stolen from Hempstead Boulevard on Dec. 29.


A 2009 Nissan Altima parked on Princeton Drive North was vandalized Dec. 27. The car was dented and had paint missing from it.
