Edna Marie Hetrick, child of Civil War vet, dies at 103

FINDLAY, Ohio - An Ohio woman whose father served as a soldier in the Civil War has died at the age of 103.

Edna Marie Hetrick, who died Monday, was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

The group, which is based in Illinois, said there are only 16 other living daughters in the country.

Hetrick was the daughter of Union soldier David Huffman. He fought in battles in Tennessee and Georgia and was wounded in 1863.

Huffman had Hetrick when he was 62 years old, 42 years after the Civil War ended.

Hetrick, who passed away at Findlay senior living center, said she remembered her father talking about the war. However, she said she was not very interested at the time.
