The Pennsylvania native had a coaching career that spanned more than 40 years in college and professional football. He was quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Buckeyes from 2001-09.
Daniels was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2006 after suffering a mild heart attack.
Daniels was a native of Bethel Park, Pa. He was a running back at Slippery Rock before beginning his coaching career. He worked at Boston College, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati in college and the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets in the NFL.
Daniels is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathy, their son Matt and daughter Kaitlin. -- AP
