The Democrats' losing Brookhaven supervisor candidate, Vivian Viloria-Fisher, took aim at Suffolk party chairman Richard Schaffer late last week for failing to support the town campaign.
Viloria-Fisher made her remarks at a meeting of the Three Village Democratic Club. In an interview she said Schaffer "just washed his hands of Brookhaven," noting he shifted tens of thousands of dollars to wage a primary against a Democratic incumbent, Legis. Rick Montano.
Schaffer declined to return fire against Fisher, who raised $53,600 in her bid against Republican Supervisor Edward P. Romaine, saying: "I commend Vivian on a great campaign and a wonderful public service career."-- Rick Brand
