Babylon Industrial Development Agency chairman Patrick Halpin says he has asked the agency's fiscal officials to provide board members a review of its books in light of questions over IDA chief executive Robert Stricoff's handling of Babylon Democratic Party finances.
Halpin, former Suffolk County executive, said he has no indication of any problems and that the agency's top fiscal official, Kathy Harris, has assured him nothing is out of line. But he said, "We've just asked them to update this fiscal year and provide the details."
An audit found the town party may have overpaid Stricoff as much as $125,000.
