Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst is unveiling another early endorsement for next year's Congressional primary -- this time from state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, a fellow Democrat.
DiNapoli says in the announcement: "Since Anna Throne-Holst started serving in elected office in 2008, she impressed me very early on with her understanding and resolve to address the financial mismanagement unraveling in Southampton. Under her leadership, she has taken Southampton from multi-million dollar deficits and budget disarray, to what is now a stellar AAA credit rating, healthy surpluses and a solid lid on the overall tax rate. Long Island and New York need more leaders like Anna Throne-Holst in Congress."
She faces a primary rivalry against venture capitalist David Calone, vying to becoming the 2016 nominee against first-term Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley).
Throne-Holst said, "Having Tom's support and endorsement is a great honor. He has been a strong fiscal leader for Long Island and New York's hardworking families. I look forward to continuing our partnership, focused around good government when I'm in Washington."
