Assembly candidate Todd Kaminsky, a Democrat, has his great-uncle Mel Brooks robocalling voters. Kaminsky is on the ballot Tuesday against Republican Avi Fertig. Whether it will have an impact remains to be seen, but the 2,000-year-old man, who's also contributed to the campaign, says in the robocall:
“Hello, this is Mel Brooks. Yes -- It really is Mel Brooks! I am calling you on behalf of my nephew -- actually my great nephew -- who is running for Assembly. His name is Todd Kaminsky.
“Todd is a great nephew and a great human being. I've known him since he was born, and aside from a few allergies, which you can't fault him for, he is bright (which runs in our family) and incredibly principled (which does NOT always run in our family).
“I am telling you, if you vote for him you'll get a truly terrific public servant who will put his heart and soul into representing you in Albany. And that’s no joke! So remember: Vote Todd Kaminsky on November 4th!"
