Our political neighbors in Queens have formed a new group: a caucus for pols who have constituents in coops or condos.
Councilman and Democrat Mark Weprin, who practices law in Garden City, created the New York City Council Caucus on Cooperative and Condominium Housing. It’s first meeting is next week, and 23 of the 51 council members have signed up.
“The Coop and Condo Caucus will begin to shine a light on the particular challenges facing these housing types,” Weprin, of Oakland Gardens, said in a statement. “The many New Yorkers who live in coops and condos deserve the attention of their government.”
