Tea Party activists will mix politics and summer fun this weekend in Long Beach.
Members of the Rockville Centre Tea Party Patriots plan to promote the movement at the Long Beach Arts & Crafts Fair Saturday and Sunday.
Here’s the party message:
“This is the perfect opportunity for members of the Rockville Centre Tea Party Patriots to promote the Tea Party movement, cultivate new members, and get a tan all at the same time!
“Please join with us for this two day event to hand out literature, talk-up our cause, and make a few new friends.
“We will be at the corner of East Broadway, and Riverside Blvd. at 11AM. All literature will be made available to you at that time.
“Bring your sunglasses, hats, patriotic clothing, and sun tan lotion.”
Also Saturday, there will be a rally - that's free - and a fundraiser for John Gomez, the Republican challengers to Democratic U.S. Rep. Steve Israel in the 2nd CD.
It’s at the Deer Park Knights of Columbus, $100 a head. It’s $250 if you want to have your photo taken with the guest of honor, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, a Tea Party favorite.
