AG race: Donovan touts backing from ex-law enforcers

Staten Island DA Dan Donovan, Republican candidate for attorney general, was endorsed at 60 Centre St. in lower Manhattan today by more than 30 ex-prosecutors. The group was led by former NYC Special Narcotics prosecutor Robert H. Silbering.

"During his tenure at the Manhattan DAs office," said Donovan's campaign, "District Attorney Donovan worked under Mr. Silbering as a Deputy Bureau Chief for Special Narcotics. Today'ss announcement follows endorsements by 12 law enforcement organizations...".

Kevin Wright, former Putnam County District Attorney; Steven Fishner, former Executive Assistant District Attorney (New York County) and former New York City Criminal Justice Coordinator; Patricia Gatling, former First Assistant District Attorney (Kings County) and former President of the National Black Prosecutors Association; Arlette Hernes, Former Executive Assistant District Attorney, Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor; Paul Callan, former Deputy Chief of the Homicide Bureau (Kings County); Warren Koster, former Deputy Chief of the Supreme Court Bureau (Kings County); Bruce Brady, former Deputy Chief of the Criminal Courts Bureau (Kings County); Lou Valvo, former Chief Assistant District Attorney (Rockland County) and 2004 Prosecutor of the Year (District Attorneys' Association, New York State); Cliff Mulqueen, former Executive Assistant District Attorney, Narcotics Investigation Bureau (Kings County); Carlos Velez, former Deputy Bureau Chief, Narcotics Investigation Bureau (Kings County) as well as many other former city and state prosecutors.
