As we gave you a hint of here today, a group of Hispanic legislators is set to oppose Suffolk Executive Steve Levy's candidacy for governor. Several are expected on Wednesday morning to announce a movement to stop him. The timing follows Levy's announcement of an exploratory committee. Among those expected to be involved: Assemblymen Peter Rivera of the Bronx and Phil Ramos.of Suffolk. Details to come. For Levy's detractors, the tactical idea is to define the county executive off Long Island as George Wallace - before Levy can define himself as, say, Harry Truman.

Update: The announcement is set for 10 a.m. in Albany.
