Bipartisan - at least on Day One

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, a top NYS Democrat, will be one of the speakers at  Friday's inaugural of Republican Edward Mangano as Nassau County executive.

Here's Schumer on the invite:

"There is a time for elections and a time to govern. When Ed Mangano reached out and invited me to participate at his innauguration, I saw it as a sign of someone who wants to get things done regardless of party and I am honored and delighted to attend."

[UPDATE: Mangano aides said another key Democrat, Assemb. Earlene Hooper of Hempstead, will also attend. "There should be a bipartisan flavor to the whole day," one Mangano supporter said.]
