Ibrahim Khan, who ran press interference for state Sen. Brian Foley's victorious 2008 campaign and from his district office since then, left the Foley nest Monday to work for the Senate Democrats' Long Island regional office in Hauppauge.

Khan, who Tweets (mostly about the Knicks) @Ibrahim_Khan, told us he'll be working to help Foley and state Sen. Craig Johnson (D-Port Washington) as well as challengers to the Island's GOP senators.

"It’s been an honor to serve the 3rd Senatorial District and help Senator
Foley address the important issues facing our communities," Khan told us. "I am excited to meet new challenges as I join the Senate majority’s Long Island office."

Foley touted Khan's work for him in a press release.

“Although I am disappointed to lose a critical member of my staff, I am glad that Ibrahim’s talents have been recognized throughout the Senate,” Foley said. “I wish him the best of luck in his new position. I know that he will serve the regional office well."
