Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer and Republican candidate Wendy Long will meet in their only debate on Sunday evening, Oct. 30, at Union College in Schenectady.

The debate will be televised on Time Warner Cable News and NY1.

Schumer and Long will debate for an hour starting at 8 p.m. before an audience of students and faculty. The debate will be moderated by Errol Louis, host of NY1’s "Inside City Hall" program, and Time Warner Cable News reporter Liz Benjamin.

Long complained in a news release that no seats at the debate will be set aside for the public, that there will be no questions from the audience and that Schumer has agreed to only one debate.

Schumer, who has a commanding lead according to recent published polls, has made no formal campaign appearances. His campaign in the last two weeks aired two ads in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.
